Comfort Food From Louisiana: Chef Recipe: Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Crawfish, Pepper Jack and Shrimp-Tomato Bisque Soup: April Is National Grilled Cheese Month: From Denny:  Now this is an exotic version of the humble comfort food:  the American grilled cheese sandwich.

You have no idea how hard it was when visiting Austria a few years ago when I attempted to explain how to make a simple grilled cheese sandwich to a local chef.  It was a seriously foreign concept to them.  They didn't have a clue.  Lots of delicious local cheeses yet no Austrian version of a grilled cheese sandwich!  Imagine that.

This Louisiana version comes from executive chef Carl Schaubhut of Café Adelaide in New Orleans.  Of course, as seafood, this rich sandwich is considered Lenten season friendly.  Serve by pairing it with the shrimp-tomato bisque soup. Here in Louisiana we always look for an excuse to enjoy our bountiful seafood so why not go meat free on Fridays even when it isn't Lent?  (You know, that special time that arrives after Mardi Gras and before Easter.)  Our restaurants enjoy creating Lenten season menus, always topping themselves from the year previous!...

Dennys World of Quotes: Christmas: Funny and Thoughtful Christmas Quotes and Short Poems: From Denny:  Well, now that we have finished Christmas breakfast at our house it's time to roll out these fun Christmas quotes and Christmas poems for you and yours to enjoy!

Oh, how rude of me not to give you the Christmas breakfast menu:  a Dutch Baby Oven Pancake with spiced cooked apples and a side of Honeysuckle Italian style ground Turkey made into a sausage which I spiced up extra with some seasoned brown rice, smokey paprika, garlic and extra virgin olive oil before shaping into small patties and cooking on the stovetop.  Yeah, it's a tough day at our house all right. :)

And, yes, I made the roast turkey yesterday since we like to celebrate Christmas Eve as well so that pressure is non-existent.  Made a wonderful wet rub for the turkey that sat a day uncovered in the fridge to marinate:  rubbed under the skin and on top with a mixture of red moscato wine, extra virgin oil, and lovely spices and herbs like marjoram, rosemary, sage, ginger, sea salt, black pepper, smokey paprika, garlic powder, a touch of lite soy sauce and more.  Blanched the green beans earlier in the week so all that needs to be done today is to heat them up in clarified butter and some spices as a side dish.  All the cooking left is to bake the Louisiana sweet potatoes which are a divine dish in themselves they are so sweet! .... A Truth Journal: GOP Stealing Elections Again As Trial Balloon For Taking Back The White House In 2016?: From Denny:  Wake up, you clueless Democrats; you just got snookered again by the Republicans stealing elections out from under your noses.  For the past two weeks the word here in the South has been from my Republican friends of how they "know for sure" they are going to win big and take back the Senate.  When I asked why they were so confident, they winked, grinned wide and said slyly, "Well, you know the fix is in nationally."

Of course, it didn't surprise me at all.  I've been suspecting it for some time. Republican greed is so ridiculously out of control.  All you had to do was observe some of their behaviors to know what they were up to.   I was just waiting patiently to see if they were actually stupid enough to carry it out.  The answer for Election Night 2014 was a resounding "Yes! We Can!"

Did you check out Sen. Roberts (R-Kansas) desperately dialing for dollars from K Street lobbyists to the tune of $100,000 per call to save his campaign?  Well, today it's K Street lobbyists who are calling Sen. Roberts and demanding all the legislation they want passed to make good for all that money they invested.  Sen. Roberts is not the only Republican who will have to pay up to their lobbyist sponsors.

For months all the polling has shown many a race to be neck and neck and "too close to call" like the Kansas Senate race.  Then, all of a sudden, there is "a stunning upset" in many a race on election night where the races were "decided" by 10 to 15 points?  Doesn't anyone in the Democrat Party have the BS detector going off in their heads yet?  You should. 

You have a slew of hated Republicans all across the country that their own states can't tolerate and yet they get re-elected by wide margins?  Come on, seriously? ...
